Trainer - CIPFA Professional Accountancy Qualification
We are seeking an experienced accountancy trainer to deliver early modules in our Professional Accountancy Qualification. Trainers are required to deliver training, both online and in the classroom, offer support to students via small group tutorials and/or on a 1:1 basis if required, undertake assessment and marking activities, and support the ongoing development of teaching materials. The job holder will need to be qualified to at least AAT Level 4 or equivalent. You would be joining a large and supportive team and we will be happy to sponsor your ongoing professional development to achieve a teaching qualification (if not already held) and CIPFA's Professional Accountancy Qualification, enabling progression to a Senior Trainer position.
Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: To include the delivery of course sessions, supporting students in their learning outside of class time such as on the VLE platform and reviewing the outcome of the delivery of courses and taking action to rectify any identified weaknesses accordingly. Assessment and Academic administration will also be a part of this role.
- Corporate and Strategic: Supporting CIPFA strategy to increase revenue from accountancy qualifications and CPD, working with others across the business as required
- Operational: Close collaboration with trainers, colleagues and managers in CIPFA’s Education and Training Centre CETC, Training Services and more broadly across the organisation
Skills and Experience
- Qualified to at least AAT Level 4, with a robust understanding of public financial management and accountancy practices.
- Experience in training or a similar educational role, ideally within a professional qualifications framework.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the capability to engage and motivate diverse learner groups.
- Proficient in using digital tools and e-learning platforms to support virtual training delivery.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit varied learning styles and requirements.
- Strong organisational skills, with an ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.

Location and Work Environment
CIPFA is committed to flexible and hybrid working arrangements. This role will operate from both your home office and our London or Chester office.
